Technomic's 2019 Foodservice Planning Program conference takes place in Scottsdale. Technomic will provide an industry update, present three research studies that were voted on by members and share insights on issues facing the foodservice industry.

Platinum Session: Concept Tour
Laura McGuire, Director, Content & Design, Technomic
This all-access tour of The Westin Kierland’s numerous and diverse foodservice facilities starts with a 30-minute large-group discussion with the resort’s Purchasing Director, with opportunity for attendees to ask questions. Attendees will then be split into small groups for touring two onsite restaurants and the resort’s banquet/catering preparation area (including BOH). Participants will be directed to the cocktail hour upon the tour conclusion.

This study will look at the DSR and their evolving role within the operator buying process. Specifics into the profile of the typical DSR will be provided, as well as their preferences for manufacturer support and identification of effective DSR reach tactics.

Workshop attendees will discuss their current engagement with Amazon and collaborate to identify best practices working with this third-party distributor powerhouse.
Option 2: Best Practices with Syndicated Research - Robert Byrne, Senior Manager, Consumer Insights, Technomic
Learn the most effective strategies for presenting syndicated research. Small groups will then implement these tools by exhibiting research from sample case studies.
Option 3: Takeout Packaging & Supplier Breakout
Meet one-on-one with takeout packaging suppliers to discuss your foodservice issues and brainstorm potential takeout packaging solutions.
Option 4: Networking Break
Interact with other supplier attendees, meet with Technomic team members or have additional free time.

Re-Distribution Evolution with Dot Foods
John Tracy, Executive Chairman, Dot Foods, Inc.
In this session, John Tracy, Executive Chairman of Dot Foods, will discuss how he has seen the distribution landscape changed over the years, and how it is expected to evolve going forward. Most importantly, he will share his perspectives on how manufacturers can more effectively work with re-distributors to achieve efficiencies and success. John brings almost 40 years of experience with Dot Foods. Tracy has also held several positions in sales and marketing before being named president in 1997 and CEO in 2006. In 2016, he also added responsibilities as Chairman of the Board and, in 2017, became Executive Chairman.
