Reaching the distributor sales rep, specialty segments and distributor evolution are among the topics at the upcoming Foodservice Planning Program meeting
CHICAGO, Oct. 4, 2018: Technomic’s Foodservice Planning Program will share new studies along with industry and economic updates during the upcoming conference, being held Jan. 7-9 in Scottsdale, Ariz. (previously Newport Beach, Calif.). This supplier members-only meeting shares strategic issues facing suppliers and offers actions that can be taken and implemented to get ahead in the foodservice industry.
“We couldn’t be more excited about this new, larger location and our agenda lineup,” explains Bernadette Noone, vice president of programs at Technomic. “We continue to improve our programs from our advisory board member feedback and this will be no exception. We have new hands-on breakout sessions, networking opportunities, industry leading guest speakers and some special resources to welcome our new members. It’s truly a must-attend event for suppliers in foodservice.”
Sessions include:
Distributor Evolution with Dot Foods—John Tracy, executive chairman of Dot Foods, will discuss how he sees the distribution landscape evolving with operators’ needs, strategies to support operators and what manufacturers can do to engage in those efforts.
The Menu of Tomorrow—As consumers’ tastes become broader, anticipate how menus will evolve and what’s in store for the future, including preparation methods, varieties and flavors. Using predictive analytics, Technomic will provide a view of menu opportunities to leverage in the future.

Trends and Directions in Emerging Specialty Segments—Explore the dynamics of emerging segments, such as food trucks, ghost restaurants, food halls, pantry foodservice and micromarkets, including size, growth and segmentation. Issues related to products used, supplier selection process/criteria, sales/marketing support and menu/format trends will be shared.
