The event featured prominent speakers from Sysco and Taco Bell, reaching record-breaking attendance numbers
CHICAGO, Jan. 24, 2018: Technomic’s Foodservice Planning Program (FSPP) celebrated its 47th anniversary in style by welcoming a record number of attendees to its January conference, “The Power of Change,” in Newport Beach, Calif., Jan. 8-10.
Attendees enjoyed two days of dynamic sessions featuring unique, supplier-focused research covering everything from menu development to critical issues facing foodservice manufacturers into the year 2022. FSPP members can now view the presentations from the conference online via Ignite.
During the conference, Technomic revealed exclusive industry projections broken down by segment. Some of the most noteworthy findings included a 3.6% growth for the industry in 2018 with segments such as fast casual, senior living and supermarket foodservice all forecasted for more than 6% growth.
Many expert speakers were also featured. Complementing Technomic’s expertise in foodservice were two key leaders in the industry: Taco Bell’s chief food innovation officer, Liz Matthews, and senior vice president of merchandising at Sysco, Brian Todd. Matthews covered Taco Bell’s uniquely innovative menu item development process. Todd’s focus was on Sysco’s outlook on the future of distribution along with how the company plans to navigate partnerships over the next five years.
