Technomic kicked off 2019 with speakers from Dot Foods, Punch Bowl Social and Chipotle at recent conference in Arizona

Attendees explored menu trends, industry and economic shifts along with specific adult beverage trends

CHICAGO, Jan. 31, 2019—Technomic helped 300 foodservice and adult beverage professionals jump-start their business plans for the year by sharing industry-leading data and forward-thinking recommendations at a recent conference in Arizona on Jan.7-9. Session topics included: reaching the DSR, emerging specialty segments, economic update, eatertainment success and the adult beverage consumer. The sessions focused in general on how the food and beverage industry is evolving and featured guest speakers from Dot Foods, Chipotle and Punch Bowl Social.

Key statistics were shared, such as:

  • 32% of consumers are willing to pay more for food with functional benefits
  • 93% of foodservice operators are highly satisfied with the performance of their DSR
  • 51% of consumers surveyed say that they’re familiar with food halls as a concept
  • 70% of consumers are more likely to visit an eatertainment venue than a traditional casual-dining restaurant for group get-togethers

“We tried a lot of new things for this event to make it all the more worthwhile for attendees,” explains Bernadette Noone, vice president of programs at Technomic. “From back-of-house kitchen tours to a session specifically welcoming our first-time attendees, members received rare hands-on experiences and were able to seamlessly network, in addition to attending sessions.”

This meeting was only open to members of Technomic’s Planning Programs. In addition to in-person events, membership includes access to searchable company profiles, custom studies and reports, newsletters and ongoing deliverables on the dynamic platform Ignite.
